It is with great regret that the Planning Committee for the Third Gathering in Seoul, Korea, announces the Gathering's cancellation for
2003.

In the end, we felt that the global Korean adoptee community was not well-represented, making it difficult to bring together the necessary resources to create a successful Gathering.

While we realize that the time is not right to plan a global conference, we hope to return to this momentous project in the future. As Korean adoptee groups grow and strengthen, we look forward to a time
when a truly representative group of adult Korean adoptees will work together towards planning a landmark gathering in Seoul. For those of you who have already made firm plans to visit Korea in 2003, GOAL may
be hosting a conference that summer. You can check for information at www.goal.or.kr.

We understand that this is a great disappointment to all adult Korean adoptees who were looking forward to meeting friends, old and new, in our birth country. In the meantime, we hope that all members of the
adopted Korean community will continue to network with other adoptees, meet and share their stories at smaller mini-gatherings, make their own journeys to Korea, and work towards creating an international Korean
adopted community.
